Hanks avoided specifying who that first child actor was.

For his performance in this film, Tom Hanks was nominated for the Best Actor in a Motion Picture- Comedy or Musical at the Golden Globe Awards. At the same ceremony, he won the award for Best Actor in a Motion Picture- Drama, for Philadelphia 1993.
